Position Description:Designs, upgrades, inspects, and maintains the electrical distribution system in accordance with National Electrical Code and National Electrical Safety Code standards to provide reliable electrical service to the customers in Horry, Georgetown and Berkeley counties in accordance with applicable company standards, policies, and procedures. Responsible for coordinating and performing engineering design for major construction projects. Responsibilities also include maintaining an accurate electronic model of the Electrical Distribution Information System (EDIS).
Essential Job Tasks:- Serves as the main point of contact for developers, electrical engineers, civil engineers, utility companies, SCDOT, architects, site contractors, retail customers, municipalities, etc. and is responsible for their satisfaction with the quality of service they receive from Santee Cooper in regards to electrical service. Directs and completes field inspections, preliminary and final designs, PDF files and/or hard copy maps for work request for commercial development, residential subdivisions, rental and municipal lighting, system improvements, relocations, cable replacements and franchise/ conversion projects.
- Utilizes computer systems (EDIS, WMIS, CCS, FIS, ECM, Outlook, Basic Pulling Tensions, Overhead Sag & Tension, Word, Excel, Voltage Drop/Flicker, Transformer Loading, and Microsoft Projects) to complete work request designs.
- Verifies maps for field accuracy to maintain current graphical view of Distribution facilities, prepares instructional letters, sketches and diagrams.
- Designs work requests to applicable Company and National Code standards and ensures proper load distribution on the system by specifying facility phase connections, develops project master plan layouts and completes Planning system improvement plans to meet future power/load requirements.
- Directs and determines facility equipment sizing of transformers, primary, secondary, and service wire by obtaining load data from customers to properly size facilities. Completes material orders for work requests utilizing WMIS.
- Completes engineering estimates for temporary facilities, relocations, conversions, and other estimates as required by current line extension policy and Distribution Design Directives.
- Accumulates inter-departmental charges, charge analysis of all time, labor, and materials to a job for the construction of electrical distribution facilities.
- Responsible for the proper handling of payment received from customers for customer job requests, invoices and reimbursable/billable projects.

Compensation Information:$75,500 - $94,350 (min. - mid.)
Engineer II- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET university or college + 2 years directly related experience are required
- Fundamental of Engineering license preferred
Compensation Information:$84,180 - $105,210 (min. - mid.)
Engineer III- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET university or college + 5 years directly related experience are required
- Fundamental of Engineering license required
