Electrical Engineer - Power Distribution Systems

Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Direct Hire
Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and ongoing improvement of power distribution and power protection equipment. This role combines electrical design work with hands-on laboratory testing, troubleshooting, product integration, documentation, and certification support.

The engineer will work across new product development and sustaining engineering activities, helping ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for production and market requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Design electrical systems and components for power distribution equipment, including component selection, thermal considerations, mechanical packaging support, and interconnection hardware.
  • Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuits, magnetics, and thermal design.
  • Develop electrical and technical specifications for power protection systems.
  • Design switchboard power and control circuits.
  • Create and maintain schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and other engineering documentation.
  • Support integration and qualification of third-party devices used in power distribution equipment.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews and evaluate designs for reliability and robustness.
  • Prepare or contribute to customer and manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for both newly released and existing power protection products.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems using hands-on testing and analysis.
  • Support product safety certification activities with NRTLs and applicable UL, CSA, and IEC standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve product performance.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software.
  • Experience designing power distribution solutions such as PDUs, STSs, RPPs, and switchboards.
  • Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively in written and verbal formats.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical engineering laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Experience with three-phase electrical power systems.
  • Strong laboratory and hands-on testing skills.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation abilities.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical hardware and systems.
