Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical systems across a variety of Modular construction projects and data center infrastructure while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication teams. This position requires an official Project Engineering license/certification with the ability to sign, seal, and certify engineering plans and reports, and to take on certain leadership and responsibility roles in projects.

Summary/Objective

As an Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with project managers, PMAs, field crews, customers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that electrical scopes of work are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. You will assist in commercial construction project design review, procurement, change order management, coordination, and troubleshooting in both the preconstruction and construction phases for our commercial electrical division.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and execution of electrical construction plans for modular projects and data centers
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Coordinate with mechanical, structural, plumbing, and manufacturing teams, general contractors, and design teams to resolve technical issues
  • Tracks and receives approved submittals from architect or engineer and coordinates with Project Team
  • Assists Project Manager by preparing all necessary back up relating to change requests
  • Completes of all required project close-out documents per contract
  • Updates and distributes contract documents to subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, and general conditions
  • Solicits subcontractors and suppliers for proposals prior to submission deadline
  • Prepares correspondence with client, architect, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
  • Establishes good working relationship and foster positive communications with other team members, management, vendors/suppliers and clients
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, providing updates and forecasts as needed
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, safety standards, and local building codes
  • Keeps up-to-date on industry technology, trends and developments
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience as an Electrical Designer
  • Project Engineering license/certification with the ability to sign, seal, and certify engineering plans and reports
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical or modular construction project support environment; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong understanding of NEC standards, load calculations, distribution systems, MCCs, switchboards, PLCs, data centers, CDU/PDU systems, wiring diagrams, and interconnection schedules
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize team performance
  • Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills are essential to this role
  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
  • Must be available to work assigned schedules


Preferred:
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Microsoft Project)
  • 3D modeling experience (Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks)
  • PDF Editing software (Bluebeam, Adobe)
  • Field experience on commercial electric construction project sites
  • Familiarity with cloud based PM software
  • Prior military experience
