Full Job Description
As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts-to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment. You will be part of an environment that values technical development, rapid iteration, and creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and validate electrical subsystems or simple systems for Meta's hardware products, with increasing independence
• Create schematics, direct board layout, and participate in design reviews
• Document requirements, specifications, and test criteria for modules and systems
• Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate new technologies and components
• Support manufacturing builds, hardware bring-up, and troubleshooting activities
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines (mechanical, firmware, software, etc.) to deliver integrated solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical performance and reliability issues
• Demonstrate sustained productivity and ownership of assigned areas
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners and contribute to team-level goals
• Participate in process improvement, knowledge sharing, and organizational activities as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of experience in electrical design or a relevant technical field
• Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and circuit and/or system design
• Experience with schematic and board design using industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadence OrCAD, Altium)
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment and debugging/automating hardware
• Experience working with at least one of the following: digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC/PMIC, or battery management systems

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with biosensor analog front-ends (PPG, EMG, ECG, IMU) including signal integrity, noise floor characterization, and sensor coexistence mitigation
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and/or a related field
• Experience with hardware bring-up automation, stress rack / soak testing, and factory test development
• Experience in adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Experience working with Asia-based ODMs/CMs -- vendor management, in-region build support, and remote bring-up coordination
• Experience with flex PCB design, band/strap mechanical-electrical integration, and connector/contact reliability
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Experience with mixed-signal SoC bring-up, sensor fusion, and firmware/HW co-debugging
• Experience with low-power wireless subsystems (BLE, Wi-Fi) -- antenna integration, RF coexistence, and regulatory certification
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience taking a consumer electronics product through the full NPI lifecycle (EVT/DVT/PVT/PROD) at high volume in mass production
• Experience with PMIC architecture, battery/fuel-gauge integration, and ultra-low-power design for small form-factor consumer wearables
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
