Here's a snapshot of some of the tasks you may perform in this role:

  • Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, and microgrids.

  • Traditional transmission and distribution design, both underground and overhead.

  • Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for complex electrical systems and equipment ranging from 15kV up to 200kV, including three-line diagrams, substation layouts, grounding design, protection studies, and sag/tension analyses.

  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure compliance with corporate, national, and client standards.

  • Provide technical support to field personnel for medium- and high-voltage collection systems, substations, and transmission equipment up to 200kV.

  • Perform electrical studies including short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, power factor, relay coordination, capacity analysis, reliability analysis, and ampacity calculations.

  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues within supported renewable energy facilities.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams-such as civil and structural engineers-and remotely coordinate with colleagues across multiple offices.

  • Conduct due diligence, feasibility, conceptual design studies, and inverter-based resource (IBR) interconnection studies; prepare utility master plan reports.

  • Participate in project management tasks, including client meetings, system design coordination, equipment selection, technical specification development, shop drawing review, and construction administration.

  • Mentor engineering and design personnel within the Power Market team.

  • Travel occasionally for client meetings, field reviews, and project assignments, with flexibility to work extended hours when project deadlines require.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by market principals and project managers.
