Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing complex automation and material handling systems for distribution, fulfillment, and warehouse applications across the project.

This role serves as the technical authority for Electrical Engineering, ensuring scalable, compliant and high-quality solutions which integrate seamlessly with upstream and downstream MHE systems (conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, sortation, and associated industrial automation technologies), including Mechanical and Controls interfaces. The Electrical Engineer drives cross-functional alignment, mentors engineers, establishes standards and best practices, and ensures predictable, efficient execution throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Project Technical Ownership
  • Develop overall system design using IEC/US standards, customer specifications and guidelines.
  • Utilize Autodesk ACAD-E and other custom tools to complete drawings for control panels, power distribution single lines, conveyor layouts, and other electrical drawings as required.
  • Calculate power requirements and ratings for single line diagrams and control panels.
  • Develop and release bill of materials for panels and field devices.
  • Support remote teams reviewing panel or layout drawings to aid manufacturing and installation functions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits, Ethernet networks, and basic plc logic.
  • Test, Commission, and Quality Assurance of complex controls solutions in customer facilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering qualifications.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA and UL508A
  • Experience using AutoCAD-Electrical (ACAD-E) to create, read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics is required.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley electrical products.
  • Strong understanding of industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profinet, etc.).
  • Experience with conveyor and MHE control systems (sorters, conveyors, palletizers, panel electrical components, field electrical components etc), safety PLCs, machine automation and interfacing with PLC/Software.
  • Familiarity with SCADA/HMI platforms is a plus (Ignition, FactoryTalk View preferred).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to lead technical conversations with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Comfortable mentoring and guiding engineers.
