Full Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to assist with flight engine electronics, instrumentation, harnessing, and control hardware. In this role, you will design, build, test, and troubleshoot engine control electronics, circuit boards, avionics integration, sensors, and instrumentation systems from development through flight-ready hardware.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Act as the Responsible Engineer for the flight engine electronics and instrumentation.
  • Design, build, and test circuit boards and write software for engine controller, throttles electric drives, and TVC.
  • Procure, calibrate, install, and troubleshoot engine instrumentation.
  • Responsible for wiring harnesses and mounting avionics on engine.
  • Create electronics schematics and models/drawings of parts and assemblies and document processes.
  • Develop and execute test programs, analyze experimental data, and apply findings to optimize designs.
  • Collaborate across mechanical, aerospace, and controls engineering teams to deliver flight-ready hardware.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience with electronics design, development, fabrication, assembly, or test.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Willing to make mistakes, take responsibilities, work independently and be transparent about your work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience designing the flight engine electronics or other rocket systems.
  • Coding (MATLAB, C++, javascript, C, Arduino).
  • Hands-on engineering (Full-stack: computer to wrench to broom).
  • Experience designing electronics and circuit boards.
  • CAD (NX preferred).
  • Familiarity with aerospace safety and reliability practices.
  • Experience in a start-up or rapid development environment.


$100,000 - $121,000 a year
