Electrical Engineer

As the Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Develop subject-matter expertise in electrical subsystems within plasma and water jet cutting systems, CNC equipment and torch height control systems

  • Support released products by implementing design changes through sustaining engineering projects

  • Manage potential alternate electronic components to address obsolescence and availability issues by working with suppliers and driving the change management process

  • Ensure released products remain compliant with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements

  • Lead cost savings or product improvement initiatives by executing design changes, verification and validation testing, and contributing to business cases

  • Analyze technical documentation and test data to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications

  • Collaborate effectively with procurement, engineers across business teams, PCB designers, technicians, manufacturing, and quality

  • Coordinate project timelines through effective verbal and written communication

  • Use sound and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices across a broad range of assignments

  • Partner closely with critical lab technician support in a lab environment

Who you are and the experience you bring:

  • B.S., Electrical Engineering degree with 0-5 years of electrical design experience of highly technical industrial products

  • Good foundational knowledge/experience in two or more of the technical disciplines - Digital, Analog, Power or Test development and strong desire to learn more in all the technical areas

  • Sound understanding of hardware engineering principles, hardware design tools and processes including defect tracking tools. Methodical design, testing, and troubleshooting capabilities

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, PCB layout, component datasheets, and construction drawings for existing designs 013

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with all functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, quality, and marketing.

  • Ability to apply statistical methods, FMEA, DfMA principles, structured problemsolving techniques, and root cause analysis

  • Highly self-motivated and driven

  • Enthusiastic about learning with the ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as independently on selected projects

  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Preferred experience that differentiates you:

  • Design experience with power supply design with inverter, Buck, Boost topology

  • Hands-on experience & working knowledge of inverter-based power conversion circuits

  • Embedded systems experience with microcontrollers, serial interfaces, analog and digital circuitry

  • Knowledge of reliability design practices and regulatory design experience (UL/UL508, CSA , ICE, NFPA)

  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and technically mitigate the impacts of noise and interfering signals on circuitry within systems in an industrial environment

  • Project management experience and/or certification

$82,636.00-$137,731.00 AnnualThis is the base pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.
Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
