Electrical Engineer

Company: Hitachi Particle Engineering and Services, Inc.

Position Summary
Under moderate supervision, the Electrical Engineer contributes to the design, development, testing, and integration of electrical and control systems for LINAC products. The engineer will work closely with senior technical staff while gaining knowledge of HPES specialized RF, high-voltage, and accelerator technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, documentation, and modification of electrical systems and assemblies.

  • Support system integration and performance testing.

  • Assist with troubleshooting system issues in collaboration with senior engineers.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and field service teams.

  • Participate in developing testing procedures, configuration control documentation, and system specifications.

  • Aid in developing or modifying control system software or test scripts.

  • Support field installation or commissioning activities as needed.

  • Learn and apply engineering principles related to RF systems, high-voltage systems, and accelerator technologies through structured mentorship.

  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

  • 2–5 years of professional electrical engineering experience.

  • Strong understanding of analog and/or digital electronics fundamentals.

  • Experience with standard electrical test equipment.

  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience in PCB tools, SPICE, automation tools, or vacuum/accelerator systems is a plus.

  • Willingness to learn RF, high-voltage, and accelerator technologies
    .

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use test tools; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces or on elevated platforms.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed tasks.

  • Normal color vision required.

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): A good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position in our California office salary range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire is $125,000 - $135,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
