Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer Job Description:

Perform electrical and system engineering tasks to include researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks in a military environment. Develops designs for electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic use. Performs trade studies, design and technology assessments for emerging technologies. Candidate will analyze, define and design mainly COTS equipment for new or existing systems or subsystems. Additional responsibilities include drawing creation, troubleshooting issues, test planning; test development; and test execution. Success in this position requires an assertive, confident attitude and a commitment to working as a part of a team to meet critical delivery schedules.

Position spans the technology development life cycle, including requirements generation, system design and implementation, hardware procurement, integration, test, and installation across lab facilities and at-sea platforms

Electrical Engineer Required Tasks:
• Design, develop, integrate and test analog designs.
• Model and simulate to optimize designs and to incorporate design margins.
• Perform design analysis, technology assessments, and trade studies.
• Specify and select COTS, ROTS, NDI and / or custom components.
• Develop rack and/or stack cabling designs.
• Specification, analysis, and selection of COTS, ROTS, NDI and / or custom components.
• Requirements review
• Cable Design for rack/stack system
• Interconnect Diagrams and Cable Run Sheets
• Test Procedure Development and Execution
• System Verification and Validation
• Support of limited Environmental Test and Analysis
• End-of-Life assessment and evaluation

Required Skills for Electrical Engineer:
• Level 1 Engineer (Sys, EE, or computer)
• Knowledge of computer systems / network / HMI technologies
• Drawing Creation / Review Coordination / Release / Management.
• Participate in Critical Item Testing & Environmental Testing
• Support general tasking across the various HW AWG groups
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Engage with customers & vendors.
• Experience with requirements derivation and capture.

o Experience with complex systems development and evaluation.

o Experience with interface requirements and component level requirements.
• Experience implementing and customizing common commercial and open-source products.
• Strong communication skills to explain design issues and solutions.

Additional Requirementsfor Electrical Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience and one to five year's professional experience.
• Must be able to obtain and keep a DoD Secret Clearance which means you must be a U.S. Citizen.
