Job DescriptionClark Nexsen, a JMT Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer EIT who will be responsible for assisting in the design, engineering, analysis, equipment selection, and system layout of electrical systems for multi-discipline building design projects for commercial, higher education and government facilities of moderate to large scope.
Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.
Compensation for this position is $81,120.00 - $85,280.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following- Working with, responding to, and taking direction from Senior Engineers, Project Managers, Managing Principals, Department Directors, and senior management
- Performing various aspects of Electrical Engineering design, including Conceptual Studies, Program Requirements, Design Analysis, Calculations, Equipment selection and layout, and System selection and layout for building design, upgrades, and retrofits
- Working in a multi-discipline design team supervised by senior engineers and project managers on projects of medium to large scope. Coordinating and communicating with other engineers and design team members
- Meeting with clients as directed
- Complying with the firm's quality control policies and procedures
- Learn and implement department and company standards
- Preparing project programming, schematic designs, design development designs, and construction documents.
- Providing electrical support services during the bidding process, such as preparing addenda, amendments, and responding to RFI's
- Providing electrical construction phase services including representing the firm on-site, answering RFI's, reviewing shop drawings and preparing record drawings

- Proficient in discipline specific design software
Required Experience- Must have graduated from an ABET-accredited 4 or 5-year engineering program in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering (Electrical Engineering focus), Electrical Engineering Technology, or Architectural Engineering Technology (Electrical Engineering focus)
- Must have earned the designation of EI or EIT in at least one US state, preferably in the local jurisdiction
- Pursuing Professional Engineer licensure (PE) within 12 months of eligibility
Preferred Experience- Understanding of sustainable design principles and design practices included in LEED and Well Building standards is encouraged
- Additional certifications such as RCDD, LC, IALD are encouraged to reflect personal growth in the profession and an ever-increasing knowledge base to enhance the design and documentation process
- Active membership in IEEE, IES or other related professional organizations is desirable
Working ConditionsAt JMT, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule. JMT offers a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work in a JMT office location at least three days per week or as needed to perform assigned duties. While most of our work is desk-based, there may be times when standing, walking, bending and lifting of minimal weight are required.
