Full Job Description
Our Toronto/Ottawa/Calgary/Vancouver office is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. We use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are key features of our projects. We are looking for an engineer who can help us in the design and construction of a wide range of projects including healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial, higher education, aviation and rail. The Opportunity • Help with the design of electrical systems for projects, including power distribution system, lighting, fire alarm, grounding and bonding, lightning protection • Conduct electrical system calculations such as demand load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations and photometric calculations • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentation materials and incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings • Coordinate with multiple disciplines and work in conjunction with project managers to deliver comprehensive and coordinated design deliverables • Support client relations related to project delivery and repeat business • Present technical material in innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences • Participate in local Professional Associations Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics required • A minimum of 2 years professional experience designing electrical systems for buildings • Familiarity with applicable local codes and standards • Experience with 3D BIM software such as Revit MEP • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based work Preferred Skills • The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work • Exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment • Familiarity with power system calculation software (SKM, ETAP or similar) • Knowledge of lighting design software (AGi32, Dialux or similar) • Engineer-in-Training certification What We Offer You At Arup, we care about each member's success, so we can grow together. Options for alternative schedules and the ability to work outside of the office for a portion of your workweek are available Toronto/Ottawa/Calgary/Vancouver Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in T/O/C/V is $82,400 - $100,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary.
