We are looking for an
Electrical Engineer with a minimum 5 years of experience, who wants to join the team helping establish Coffman's long-term presence in Idaho. You'll have the opportunity to shape client relationships, mentor future hires, influence office culture, and become a key part of our regional growth strategy. This position is ideal for an engineer who wants increasing responsibility, client interaction, project leadership opportunities, and the ability to help shape a growing office. This role works closely with the electrical department and other engineering disciplines while contributing to Coffman's continued growth and client development efforts. The position offers the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively, support the Boise office's business objectives and culture, gain diverse project experience, and participate in projects with national exposure. Responsibilities include:
- Developing electrical engineering design deliverables such as drawings, specifications, calculations, studies, and reports
- Preparing and reviewing electrical site plans, one-line diagrams, lighting and power plans, and equipment schedules
- Conducting site visits to collect data and verify existing conditions
- Coordinating with owners, clients, and design partners and collaborating with Revit and AutoCAD designers to communicate design updates
Additional duties include performing load, voltage drop, short circuit, and photometric calculations on multiple projects concurrently. The role also provides opportunities for career growth through developing project management capabilities, building and strengthening client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and pursuing long-term career advancement.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, including advanced manufacturing facilities, data centers, healthcare environments, higher education campuses, commercial developments, industrial facilities, federal and DoD projects, and critical power systems.

Requirements Include:- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
- PE license preferred. Candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
- 5+ years of consulting Electrical Engineering experience
- Experience with industry software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC), National Electrical Code, and US design standards
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, leadership, and time management skills
- Experience working as part of a multi-discipline design team
- Experience with electrical studies (preferably SKM, E-Tap, Easy Power)
- Experience in designing electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, federal/DoD, science and technology, and/or data center projects preferred
