Job DescriptionWe are looking for an
Electrical Engineer with 5-8 years of experience in lighting, power, and low-voltage consulting engineering to join our team of progressive, highly respected multi-discipline engineers in our Westminster, CO office location. Ideal applicants will be well-versed in all aspects of electrical design and project management.
In this role you will perform the following functions:
- Developing electrical engineering design deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations, testing requirements, acceptance criteria, reports, electrical studies, feasibility studies/condition surveys, etc.
- Reviewing and preparing project drawings including electrical site plans, one-line diagram, demolition plans, lighting and power plans, calculations pertinent to the design, and panel and equipment schedules.
- Visiting sites to collect existing electrical data and verify/confirm information provided on existing drawings.
- Collaborating with Owner, Client, and design partners for a coordinated design.
- Familiarity with relevant codes like NEC, ICC Codes especially IBC and IECC, and ensures design conforms with all applicable codes, adopted amendments, and client standards.
- Working with Revit and AutoCAD designers and producing clean markups to clearly communicate design changes needed.
- Using Coffman's various software to complete project invoices with the support of Coffman's billing specialists, and manage and track project budget.
- Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit calculations.
- Perform photometric calculations using lighting software.
- Manage and design multiple concurrent projects.
- Develop fee and qualification-based proposals.

Qualifications- BS in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with electrical power emphasis)
- PE license in Electrical Engineering, required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design consisting of lighting and power systems.
- Low-voltage design experience, preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Project Management experience and/or certifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Experience in designing electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, federal/DoD, science and technology, and/or data center projects, preferred.
- Local AHJ experience and relationship, preferred
- Experience with electrical studies, preferred (SKM, E-Tap, EasyPower)

- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
