Job Description:

Summary:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful electrical engineering candidate will conceive, plan, design develop and coordinate project components including schedules as well as create and develop engineering project documentation; develop prototypes and test plans; perform validations; troubleshoot and implement product release plans; support sales, service and marketing and complete engineering analysis and designs using various engineering tools.  The candidate must be experienced in electro-mechanical system design and development, have knowledge of electrical components, circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and programming software.

What you will do:

  • Work with Engineering and Production teams to design electrical control panels
  • Work with production teams to develop, implement, and improve electrical control panel assembly procedures and specifications
  • Develop new and improve existing PLC ladder logic and HMI programs
  • Assist service department with troubleshooting electrical issues over the phone

and occasionally in the field

  • Work with engineering and purchasing teams to assure that all components used in electrical systems meet UL 508A or specific product UL file requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working in highly innovative, design-driven environments
  • Hands-on mechanical skills
  • Experience using a variety of sensors
  • Demonstrated digital and analog circuit design, fabrication, and debugging experience
  • Excellent listening, consultative, presentation, organizational, project management written and oral communication skills.  The ability to prioritize and follow-up as required
  • Must be a creative problem solver, have a sense of urgency, is detailed oriented, and demonstrate leadership and project management skills
  • Preference given to those with Mitsubishi PLC’s, HMI’s and software experience
  • Strong documentation and written communication skills
  • Minimal travel will be required (to business locations & job sites 10%)

Education and experience:

  • BS Degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of embedded micro-controller systems
  • Experience with communication protocols for peripheral devices
  • Logical, deductive reasoning
  • Solid understanding of Micro-processors, embedded systems
  • Ability to execute projects within specified timelines
  • MS office application proficiency
