Job Summary & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Electrical Engineer to support manufacturing and developing ONTO SDI's optical measurement equipment for the Semiconductor industry. This position will be based at ONTO SDI in North Billerica, MA, and will report to the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications
  • Must have 2+ years of product development experience, preferably engaged in the manufacture of advanced semiconductor equipment.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical fields.
  • Background in the development of semiconductor equipment, including optical-based equipment, is a plus
  • Proficiency with design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium Designer, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ePlan).
  • Experience with embedded systems, PCB design, PLCs, or microcontrollers is highly desirable.
  • Experience with electrical layouts and design (AC and DC).
  • Experience working on industrial equipment interlocks and EMO safety systems.
  • Experience working with and maintaining NRTL safety and electrical certifications.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Experience working in a production and R&D environment.
  • Background working with programmable instruments, motion controllers, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Extensive experience working independently, troubleshooting electrical issues, improving designs, and developing new ones.
  • Proficient at soldering electrical cabling and PCBs (both through-hole and surface-mount components).
  • Experienced working with key module and component suppliers
  • Strong problem-solving, technical skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate, quantitative, and timely analysis.


Compensation & Growth
• Base Salary Range:
$72,080.00 - $108,120.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
