What You'll Do:As the
Electrical/Network Engineer, you'll join a top-notch team in support of NAVAIR's new Simulators at Sea (S[redacted]) system. This system increases aviator readiness and is the first integrated training capability for an air wing to deploy on a Navy carrier.
Get in on the ground floor of an exciting new initiative!This position provides technical expertise in the design, integration, and sustainment of shipboard and shore-based network and electrical systems supporting distributed training environments.
Your mission: to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance connectivity across simulation training systems in support of innovative Naval Aviation training objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure supporting S[redacted] training systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and associated hardware.
- Provide electrical systems support for integration of network equipment within shipboard and shore-based environments.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF and STIG implementation.
- Support installation, configuration, and certification of new hardware and software systems.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and configuration baselines.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders, program offices, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Provide on-site and remote support, including occasional travel for shipboard integration and testing.
- Position will require occasional travel (5%) for system installation, testing, and fleet support.

Requirements
What You'll Bring:Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM area of study is required. Additional experience will be required without a degree.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering and/or electrical systems integration.
- Experience with Cisco networking equipment (routing, switching, VLANs, etc.).
- Knowledge of DoD network environments (NMCI, CANES, or similar).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements (RMF, STIGs, ACAS, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience supporting Naval Aviation training systems or simulation environments.
- Familiarity with distributed training architectures.
- Experience with shipboard network integration (e.g., CANES or afloat systems).
- Certifications such as Security+, CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.
- Experience with virtualization, cloud integration, or cross-domain solutions.

Security Clearance Requirement:- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Salary Range:- The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $135,000 - $155,000, commensurate with an individual's experience, qualifications, and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation.
