Full Job Description
Position Title: ELECTRICAL DESIGNERLocation: OFFICEFLSA Class: EXEMPTResponsible to: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER

Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for the creation, organization, and dissemination of electrical/electronic schematics as needed by the IC&E Engineering team. Duties can involve some hands-on lab work, and document writing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use AutoCAD to create and modify electrical and electronics schematics for turnkey power generation solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to develop accurate and complete schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform quality checks on completed schematics to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of schematics and related documentation.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge related to drafting and AutoCAD software.
  • Assist the IC&E team with lab equipment drawings and installation/testing.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop accurate technical specifications and RFQ's.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, skilled labor certificate, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in drafting, preferably with electrical or electronics schematics.
  • 5+ years of industry-related experience or an associate degree in a technical field.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and related software.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and standards.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.
  • Valid driver's license.

Other Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment.
  • Experience with electronics test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.
  • Experience with Digital Multifunction Protection Relays.
  • Experience with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories' electronics.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and/or other relevant codes and standards.
  • Experience in the electrical and electronics industry.
