Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an Electrical Construction Inspector to join our Water/Wastewater Group in Pasadena, CA. This is an onsite role to provide construction observation of wastewater pumping and treatment plant facilities in Orange County, CA.

Position will primarily work in a field setting. While the work is typically an 8-hour workday Monday through Friday, there may be occasions that the work will require overtime, nights, and/or weekends. Field work may include. The position requires exposure to the elements including inclement weather and work around operating construction equipment, in excavations and trenches, in confined spaces, on scaffolding, on lifts, on public roadways with moving vehicles, and in other hazardous conditions. The position requires climbing ladders and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Observe and document construction of wastewater facilities to confirm compliance with construction contract documents.

  • Perform plan reviews and field inspections of electrical infrastructure, including but not limited to, motor control centers, variable frequency drivers, pumps, blowers, lighting, HVAC equipment, duct banks, pull boxes, fiber and communications, poles, cabinets, controllers, etc.

  • Report to a Construction manager and/or Resident Engineer and may lead other inspectors in completing tasks such as providing compliance monitoring of electrical installations and regular updates on daily construction activities, who will perform daily electrical inspections, coordination, testing oversight, commissioning, and verification of Contract Document compliance.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Knowledge and experience with equipment used in pumping station and wastewater treatment plant construction inspection, surveying, and construction office engineering.

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and processes entering into the installation of electrical systems in major industrial building and wastewater pumping and treatment facility construction; electrical Safety Orders of the Division of Occupational Safety and Health and rules for Overhead Line Construction of the Public Utilities Commission; methods and procedures for testing the performance of electrical systems in buildings and industrial facilities; service connection requirements of the public utilities servicing the area; principles of effective supervision.

  • Thorough understanding of electrical work and the equipment/instrumentation used in wastewater left station and treatment plant facilities.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical code

  • horough understanding of construction safety, quality control and general construction contracts

  • Ability to use and interpret contract documents, drawings, schedule, and quality control plans relating to complex construction projects, specifically P&ID drawings, single-line diagrams, and conduit schedules

  • Strong communications skills used for reporting and other communications

  • Strong focus and skills for construction safety.

  • ust be physically able to climb extensively up and down ladders and to enter awkward and confined spaces on a regular basis.

Salary Range: $15.68 - $71.30
