Manage and execute commissioning projects on new construction and within existing buildings to include the following tasks:
• Perform all aspects of commissioning of electrical systems including emergency power, power distribution, lighting control systems, and fire alarm systems
• Comfortable working on construction sites and industrial manufacturing facilities
• Experience working with security systems, CCTV, Access Control, and HVAC controls are preferred
• Familiarity with equipment startups and system checkout are strongly preferred
• Knowledgeable about site and electrical safety practices
• Carry out commissioning design reviews
• Finalize commissioning submittal reviews
• Create commissioning forms, specifications, and plans
• Successfully interpret contract documents (i.e., drawings and specifications)
• Understand MEP building systems and controls sequences of operation
• Develop, execute, and document pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems test procedures
• Be responsible for commissioning communications, reporting, and updates
• Perform project management oversight including schedule review, budget controls, and documentation
• Maintain strong client relationships
Requirements
• B.S. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree from ABET accredited university; Construction Management, Engineering Technology with appropriate experience
• 4+ years of direct commissioning or related experience in a variety of facility systems and subsystems, specifically electrical, life safety, and lighting systems
• General Contractor background is applicable as is experience in manufacturing checkout/startup
• Understanding of NEC and NECA standards
• Background in operation and maintenance of electrical equipment and control systems.
• Demonstrates strong communication, supervisory, and organizational skills by effectively collaborating with clients, customers, contractors and peers on technical and project-related matters, and contributing as a valuable member of multidisciplinary teams
• Strong computer skills including operation of automation systems (JCI, ALC, Trane, EcoStructure, Siemens, etc), proficiency within the MS Office suite, and comfortability in learning new applications with minimal instruction
• Familiarity and experience with test equipment including direct electrical measurement, IR cameras, data loggers, electrical multimeters, power quality meters, and other related tools
• Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work
• Must be available for out-of-town travel for a few days at a time
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
Work Environment:
• Work environment is primarily indoors at firms' facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors/outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required (PPE is provided by firm)
• While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights
