Electrical & Power Infrastructure Project ManagerDepartment: Data Center and Power Infrastructure
Location: East Texas / project dependent
Job DescriptionThis role manages the electrical and energy infrastructure required to energize a high-density data center campus, including utility interconnection, substations, transmission/distribution, onsite generation, BESS, switchgear, and controls interfaces. The Electrical & Power Infrastructure Project Manager will lead planning and delivery of utility and behind-the-meter power packages from design through testing and energization, coordinating closely with the serving utility, generation partners, engineering firms, OEMs, and contractors. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning technical and commercial interfaces across complex power infrastructure and driving grid-readiness and energization timelines on a mission-critical program.
Duties and Responsibilities- Lead planning and delivery of utility and behind-the-meter power packages from design through testing and energization
- Coordinate with the serving utility, generation partners, engineering firms, OEMs, contractors, and grid stakeholders
- Manage interconnection milestones, studies, protection requirements, equipment lead times, outages, and energization plans
- Oversee technical and commercial interfaces for substations, transformers, MV/HV switchgear, generators, BESS, UPS, and power-management controls
- Maintain power-package budgets, schedules, risks, procurement logs, and executive reporting
- Coordinate relay settings, SCADA/controls, metering, commissioning, and operational handoff requirements
- Identify long-lead and grid-readiness risks early and drive mitigation plans
- Ensure compliance with applicable utility, ERCOT, NERC, NEC, NFPA, and local requirements as applicable
Required Experience/Skills- 8+ years delivering substations, generation, utility-scale energy, or mission-critical electrical infrastructure
- Experience coordinating utility interconnection and energization activities
- Knowledge of MV/HV equipment, protection and controls, commissioning, and long-lead procurement
- Strong project management and multi-party coordination skills
Nice-to-Haves- Experience with ERCOT and Texas utilities
- Data center, BESS, reciprocating-engine generation, or microgrid experience
- Electrical engineering degree and PE license
- PMP or utility project-management credential
EducationElectrical engineering degree preferred (PE license a plus).
