Full Job Description
Senior Project Manager - Data Center Development & Preconstruction

Department: Data Center and Power Infrastructure

Location: East Texas / project dependent (travel required to project and partner locations)

Job Description
This role leads owner-side planning and preconstruction for a phased, power-first data center campus, coordinating scope, schedule, budget, design, permitting, utilities, commercial stakeholders, and delivery partners from development through notice to proceed. The Senior Project Manager will own the integrated development plan for assigned buildings, infrastructure packages, or campus phases - from concept through construction handoff - working closely with EPC/GC partners, designers, consultants, and major-equipment vendors. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating across the full project lifecycle, not just field execution, and can drive alignment across technical, commercial, and regulatory stakeholders on a complex, phased program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own the integrated development plan for assigned buildings, infrastructure packages, or campus phases from concept through construction handoff
  • Coordinate design, estimating, constructability, permitting, procurement, utility interconnection, onsite generation, and customer requirements
  • Develop milestone schedules, decision logs, risk registers, budgets, and executive status reports
  • Support EPC/GC, designer, consultant, and major-equipment procurement strategies and participate in bid evaluations
  • Drive scope definition and change control across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, controls, and technology workstreams
  • Lead recurring coordination meetings and escalate decisions affecting energization, tenant readiness, cost, or schedule
  • Support regulatory, tax-abatement, community, and local-agency coordination as needed
  • Ensure construction turnover, commissioning, and operational-readiness requirements are incorporated early in design

Required Experience/Skills

  • 8+ years of project management experience in hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, power generation, utilities, or large industrial programs
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects through development and preconstruction, not only field execution
  • Working knowledge of data center MEP systems, utility power, substations, backup generation, BESS, and commissioning interfaces
  • Strong command of project controls, contract administration, risk management, and executive communication
  • Ability to travel regularly to East Texas and other project or partner locations

Nice-to-Haves

  • Owner/developer-side experience delivering multi-building or phased campuses
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or equivalent systems
  • PMP, CCM, PE, or comparable credential

Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
