Electric Utility Superintendent

City Light & Power, Inc. (CLP) is seeking an Electric Utility Superintendent to join the Operations team located at our home office in Denver, CO. This position is responsible for the overall guidance, direction, supervision, and technical expertise for CLP power distribution construction projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures a consistent message to field operation teams.
  • Cultivate a strong safety culture by working closely with EH&S Department to ensure safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project.
  • Will work with Installation Managers to assist with the oversight of schedules, equipment, materials, tools, CLP personnel and Subcontractors.
  • Assist project teams with labor schedules, project projections, and maintain consistent means and methods.
  • Collaborate with Estimating team on new project bids to ensure proper staffing and support is in place.
  • Will establish and monitor workforce meetings, safety meetings, turnover meetings as needed.
  • Travel to project sites to monitor progress, create a collaborative work environment onsite, and continually improve CLP's delivery performance.
  • Will work with team on performance decisions regarding union field personnel.
  • Prepares, monitors, and distributes necessary documentation and status reports.
  • Understands and enforces company, job site-specific, federal, and state safety regulations on site and discusses concerns with Site Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge:
  • Journeyman Lineman or Master Electrician Licenses required.
  • Minimum of five (5+) or more years working within the utilities and/or electrical construction industry required.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
    • Documented education and/or related training or combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to lead project teams and supervise employees.
  • Knowledgeable with specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services.
  • Knows and understands applicable codes and standards, i.e., NEC, federal, state, etc.
  • Maintain OSHA 10/30 Certifications.
  • Able to read and understand civil, structural, mechanical plans and specifications to include blueprints, proposals, and other documents as they relate to electrical work.
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player who can successfully work with diverse internal and external partners.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt position. Office hours of work are Monday through Friday.

Travel: 30%

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent work authorization.
  • A valid driver's license is required, and meets the CLP Fleet Policy.
  • Must be able to obtain Military Base Security Access.

  • Salary range: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00/year based on experience, plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
