Work Location: Denver, CO - Hybrid Work Schedule

This role will play a critical role in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for EPC microgrid, electrical distribution, and high-voltage infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for interpreting technical drawings, performing detailed take-offs, evaluating subcontractor and vendor proposals, and collaborating with engineering and project teams to ensure bid completeness and constructability. The ideal candidate brings deep electrical estimating experience, a strong understanding of MV/HV systems and civil scopes, and the ability to drive pricing strategies that support successful project delivery.

What you'll do:
  • Evaluate RFP requirements and lead preparation and submission of proposal documents.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor bids.
  • Prepare subcontractor bid packages and lead solicitation and evaluation of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site walk-downs to assess constructability and clarify scope.
  • Maintain an electronic database of material pricing, unit costs, labor benchmarks, and vendor quotes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement, and vendors to ensure clear scope and design intent.
  • Identify value-engineering opportunities and recommend cost-effective alternatives.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor proposals for compliance and accuracy.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and support project handoff after award.
  • Lead pre-proposal risk analysis and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare pre-proposal schedules and write final proposal documents.
  • Perform other estimating and work duties as needed

What you bring:
  • Minimum of ten (10+) years of electrical estimating or construction project management experience; power generation, BESS, substation, T&D, or microgrid experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting EPC, renewable integration (solar/BESS), or Army Corps/government/utility-scale infrastructure construction projects.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required; ability to manage and maintain complex cost databases. Knowledge of Procore and Bluebeam software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, one-line diagrams, civil plans, specifications, and bid documents with a high degree of technical accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
  • Experience with estimating software is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to resolve technical issues, prepare clear reports, and engage vendors and subcontractors effectively.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel is required.
