Full Job Description
The good-faith pay range for this role is $68,500 - $98,100 per year. Actual compensation may vary and may be above the posted range based on factors such as a candidate's skills, experience, education, certifications, and work location.

What your job will be like:

Maintain highly complex electrical, electronic, or mechanical equipment, structures, components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve performance and facilitate operations. Lead and instruct junior technicians performing maintenance and repair of cryogenic electrical and electronic equipment, instrumentation, and controls within cryogenics operations.

Provide technical support for modification and/or installation projects and updating "as built" drawings and other documentation. Work directly with engineers to lead junior technicians in the operation of various types of rotating and reciprocating machines such as helium screw compressors, helium reciprocating expansion engines, vacuum pumps, and all associated components that support ongoing testing and accelerator operations throughout the laboratory.

In this job you will:
  • Install, maintain and repair medium and low voltage cryogenic electrical equipment, wiring, and conduits.
  • Install, maintain and repair of instrumentation, cryogenic control system, electric and pneumatic valves.
  • Update "as built" electrical and mechanical drawings where applicable.
  • Operate cryogenic equipment including supporting daily operations and after-hours emergencies.


Lead - Supervisory - Management
  • Lead teams of junior EI&C technicians in performing installation, maintenance and repair activities. Train junior EI&C technicians in electrical, instrumentation and controls troubleshooting and instrumentation calibration.


Experience
  • Required: 9 or more years relevant experience


Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of hand tools, hardware, power tools.
  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of electrical diagnostics equipment such as multimeters, meggers, etc.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of soldering iron and soldering wires and electronic components.
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, controls enclosure drawings and equipment manuals.
  • The ability to safely troubleshoot and understand operation of electrical equipment, basics of cryogenic control system and instrumentation.
  • The ability to understand and read P&I diagrams.
  • The ability to operate machine shop equipment like milling machines.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • The ability to complete training such as: Qualified Electrical/Electronics Worker, Crane and Forklift Operator, ODH, Radiation Worker I, and Lockout/Tagout.
