Position Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable HSE Advisor to support safety programs across our manufacturing operations. This role delivers orientations and training, leads incident investigations, manages WCB claims, and supports audits and HSMS documentation. The HSE Advisor monitors safety performance, updates procedures, mentors' employees in hazard assessment, and helps drive a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver new hire safety orientations and ensure onboarding materials are up to date.
  • Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and refresher training sessions.
  • Manage workplace injury and incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective/preventative actions.
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to ensure standardization and alignment with business strategies and legislative requirements.
  • Mentor floor workers on proper completion of Field Level Hazard Assessments.
  • Coordinate Workers Compensation (WCB) claims.
  • Monitor safety incidents and metrics and report on safety trends and issues.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and updating of safety procedures and policies.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation related to the HSMS, including SOPs, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external audit readiness.
  • Support the activities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, and corrective actions.
  • Stay current with both the legislation and latest trends in safety and consistently implement these practices in the workplace.


Required Education & Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate program in occupational health and safety or a related discipline
  • Working toward or holding certification such as CRSP, NCSO, MSO, MSA or equivalent is an asset.
  • 8+ years of related and progressive experience in a manufacturing environment
    COR audit experience
  • Experience managing WCB claims
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Valid Standard First Aid certificate (willingness to obtain if you currently don't have)
