As our EHS & Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for establishing, leading, and maintaining a culture of safety, environmental compliance, and operational reliability across the manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA & state environmental agencies) This role will implement and develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company. Manage facility infrastructure, preventative maintenance programs, utility operations, and contractor activities covering the facilities operation. The role has direct oversight of facilities vendors, suppliers, and contractors. This role will implement and develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
Key Responsibilities- Implementing, monitoring OSHA regulations and Company safety policies and procedures.
- Complying with current Local and State health and safety regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of employees and visitors.
- Conducting necessary safety audits, safety walks, and training of all current and new employees.
- Coordinating registration and disposal of hazardous waste / discharge materials
- Investigating and reporting all injuries, accidents, incidents involving employees and visitors.
- Inspecting equipment and company property monthly during safety walks
- Assisting all executives, managers, supervisors in emergencies preparedness.
- Develop, execute, and monitor safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), Machine Guarding, PPE, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, and Hearing Conservation. Conduct safety onboarding and ongoing employee training.
- Lead investigations for workplace injuries, near-misses, and environmental spills. Implement root-cause corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct job hazard analysis (JHAs), floor observations, and workplace safety audits.
- Prepare and submit environmental permits, hazardous waste disposal tracking.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of building infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, plumbing, boilers, fire suppression systems, and roofing.
- Implement and oversee a Maintenance Management System (MMS) to track routine facility PMs and equipment uptime.
- Source, negotiate, and oversee third-party vendors for facility repairs, janitorial services, waste disposal, landscaping, and specialized maintenance.
- Collaborate with plant engineering to plan and manage facility expansion, layout modification, or capital equipment installation projects.
- Develop and maintain the facility Emergency Response Plan (ERP), spill containment procedures, and fire safety systems.
- Coordinate emergency evacuation drills, severe weather responses, and chemical spill response team training.
- Manage site access controls, security cameras, badge systems, and visitor management protocols
- Establish safety guidelines, official announcements, related communications, and educational materials.

- Promote health and safety awareness at all levels within the company. (Establish KPI's, make visible)
- Collaborate across Winchester in a way that leads by example, exhibits empathy, ensures task ownership, uses data to make decisions, and puts safety first.
- Establish Safety guidelines, announcements, and other related communication, and educational materials
- Establish KPI's, report on them, and make them visible to the team and other departments
- Collaborate frequently with other departments to ensure safety and safety awareness
- Suggest solutions to resolve or address safety issues and concerns from the team.
- Suggest incentives to reinforce the right behaviors (utilize the DOA for salary/incentive changes)
- Continuously seek ways to increase safety awareness and understanding
Key Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Thorough knowledge of OSHA Standards and EPA regulations.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems in industrial settings.
- Proficient in tracking EHS metrics (TRIR, managing safety documentation, and running MMS software.
- Strong capability to drive cultural change, engage frontline personnel in safety practices, and communicate effectively with plant executive leadership.
- Strong skills in Root Cause Analysis.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions- Ability to lift up to 35-50 lbs, climb ladders, walk large production plant floors daily, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Exposure to manufacturing environments , noise levels, and moving mechanical machinery.
- On-call availability to respond to site emergencies or facility failures during off-hours.
