Job Title: EHS Manager
Location: Elmira Heights, NY
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00
Work Model: Onsite - onsite

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements including OSHA, DEC, State Accreditations (New York), ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve workplace safety, reduce work-related injuries and occupational illnesses, and minimize environmental impact.
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive programs related to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental issues.
  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, and deliver relevant training sessions to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability initiatives, maintain accurate documentation, and report on EHS performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Translate corporate EHS requirements into management systems with site-specific goals, interfacing with regulatory agencies and acting as liaison with government authorities.
  • Manage and direct the site in achieving EHS targets and ISO certifications; support creation of EHS goals for leadership and frontline teams.
  • Manage EHS priorities during facility restructuring projects, ensuring environmental permits are obtained prior to process changes.
  • Facilitate and coordinate annual EHS audits, oversee corrective actions, and report audit results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards including industrial hygiene, confined space entry, fall protection, machine guarding, and contractor safety.
  • Manage storm water permits, air sampling protocols, and outsource or train staff in safety and environmental awareness programs.
  • Administer employee safety and risk programs and maintain current insurance policies including Workers Compensation.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and other relevant gatherings.
