Job Summary:The Environmental Health, and Safety Manager will develop, coordinate, and implement health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacements.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Develops and implements health and safety policies and procedures for all areas of the company.
- Reviews existing safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Provides technical and administrative support to the safety committee.
- Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintains records of discharge or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Completes accident and incident reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Extensive knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct training.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, Environmental Health, or related field required.
- Five years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
Additional Requirements- Willingness to travel to additional Precinmac entities, including but not limited to Viper Northwest, with regularity.
