Job Description

Position Summary:

The EHS / Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading environmental, health, safety (EHS) compliance and plant maintenance operations in a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. This role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, maintains facility and equipment reliability, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
EHS Leadership & Compliance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and aerospace regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain safety metrics, reporting systems, and regulatory documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety audits.
  • Lead safety training programs and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as site EHS subject matter expert during audits and inspections (internal/external/customers).
Maintenance & Reliability Management
  • Oversee maintenance operations for production equipment, tooling, and facility infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of equipment failures and production disruptions.
  • Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, and work order systems (CMMS).
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of critical aerospace manufacturing equipment.
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability, OEE, and maintenance efficiency.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Identify and implement process improvements across EHS and maintenance functions
  • Lead lean initiatives related to reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop EHS and maintenance team members.
  • Establish performance expectations and monitor team productivity.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to support production goals.
  • Promote a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement.
Risk Management & Emergency Preparedness
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and business continuity procedures
  • Lead emergency response efforts, including drills and incident coordination.
  • Manage environmental risks including waste handling, emissions, and hazardous materials.
Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.
  • Expertise in maintenance systems (CMMS), reliability, and asset management.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Five plus years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, OSHA certifications, CMRP).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong background in both EHS compliance and industrial maintenance leadership.
