Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver EHS Compliance training modules
  • Assist with compliance activities for packaging and transportation
  • Review and update EHS documentation
  • Investigate EHS incidents, assess root causes and corrective measures
  • Conduct assessments for compliance with nuclear and other regulatory standards
  • Evaluate suppliers for EHS compliance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects
  • Perform internal audits and assorted EHS duties as needed

Full Job Description
Position Overview:
The EHS Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of multiple EHS programs including customer license reviews, training, packaging and transportation, and internal audits.

Location:

On-site in Kanata, Ontario

Your Day to Day as a EHS Compliance Specialist:
  • Review customer licenses to ensure appropriate authorizations are in place
  • Coordinate the training program for employees including identifying and implementing systemic improvements
  • Develop and deliver EHS Compliance training
  • Assist in compliance activities related to packaging and transportation
  • Review and update EHS program documentation
  • Investigate EHS incidents, identify root causes and determine corrective actions
  • Perform compliance assessments against nuclear and other regulations
  • Assess suppliers for compliance with EHS requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform internal audits
  • Assist with other EHS responsibilities as required
  • May require support on Company Holidays


Required Qualifications:
  • University Degree in Science or Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience, normally in a similar position
  • Experience with training programs
  • Ability to understand and interpret nuclear and transportation regulations
  • Ability to carry out inspections and audits
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Excellent writing skills, particularly for procedures and internal communication
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in a nuclear facility would be an asset
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility would be an asset
  • Experience with transportation of dangerous goods would be an asset

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $$76,000 and $$118,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
