Additional Information About the Role

BJC is hiring for a EHR Principal Trainer. This is a remote position. We are looking for applicants with a teaching background or previous epic training experience.

Overview

Role Purpose

Under general direction, creates and validates training programs that support and promote the provision of a superior patient experience for patients and their families. Develops specific requirements and content for training and education of the Epic EMR system for all assigned modules. Will facilitate and work closely with Credentialed Trainers on virtual classroom presentation or training programs. Epic or applicable certification(s) will be required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities
  • Specifies solutions for use in learning and development programs in the Epic EMR workplace. Commissions the development of Epic learning materials and defines Epic learning outcomes. Leads learning programs, recommends and specifies learning interventions for design, development and deployment according to agreed learning outcomes for the Epic EMR.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of a catalogue of learning and development of Epic resources. Uses data from BJC learning management system and various Microsoft tools to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of Epic learning/educational activities. Books and organizes various Epic learning meetings.
  • Leads the specification and development of Epic curricula and assessment in an educational context. Directs the definition, implementation, and monitoring of Epic curricula to satisfy relevant statutory and professional benchmarks and frameworks. Ensures that relevant current Epic research is represented in the curricula.
  • Provides advice and guidance on the selecting, adopting and adapting assessment methods, tools and techniques for virtual training setting. Plans assessments based on the context of the assessment and how assessment results will be used in a virtual training setting. Manages execution of assessments to ensure they deliver the required outcomes with acceptable quality. Manages reviews of the benefits and value of assessment methods and tools. Identifies and recommends improvements to assessment methods and tools.
  • Manages the delivery of Epic learning to ensure learning objectives are met. Leads the design and selection of appropriate Epic environments to support and enhance the learning experience. Customizes Epic learning activities incorporating relevant scenarios and case studies. Delivers Epic learning activities to specialist audiences requiring the application of advanced technical and professional principles to unpredictable situations. Advises others in learning delivery techniques and options. Evaluates and monitors the performance of Epic learning delivery activities.
  • May be part of an after-hours on-call rotation.
