Job DescriptionThe Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for supporting employee relations activities, serving as the primary point of contact for the Employee Relations/ Labor Relations team for leave absence (LOA) in partnership with the designated ESHR LOA team member This role will have responsibilities for assisting the department with the adoption and day-to-day use of AI tools in HR processes. This role focuses on delivering consistent employee support, ensuring compliance with policies, and improving efficiency through responsible use of technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Completing employee relations investigations when cases arise
- Supporting investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and maintaining case files
- Assist in ensuring consistent application of company policies and workplace standards
- Provide basic guidance to employees and managers on performance concerns, workplace expectations, and conflict resolution
- Act as the primary point of contact for all leave of absence inquiries within the ERLR team
- Partner with ESHR LOA lead to educate employees and managers on LOA policies, eligibility, and procedures, FMLA, ADA, company leave policies
- Escalate complex or sensitive leave situations to ESHR LOA lead & Program Team members as required
- Support the implementation and day-to-day use of AI tools, particularly in employee relations, and onboarding activities
- Onboarding tasks for new hires across sector
- Utilize AI tools to assist with documentation, trend tracking, and administrative efficiencies.
- Help maintain data quality and ensure proper use of AI systems in alignment with company guidelines and policies
- Provide basic support and guidance to team members on AI tools and processes
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows using AI and share recommendations with leadership.
- Ensure all AI usage follows data privacy, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
Because of the need for intermittent in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform a portion of work onsite, this position will be considered hybrid. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 50% or more of the time, as well as remotely, when applicable.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelors Degree with 2-4+ years HR experience or High School Diploma with 8 years relevant HR Experience
- Strong understanding of HR practices and employee relations concepts
- Experience handling HR related tasks, including but not limited to investigations, performance improvement plans, policy compliance, employee guidance, and conflict resolution.
- Basic knowledge of leave of absence process and employment laws
- Strong organization and documentation skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Comfort learning and using new technology, including AI-based tools
- Attention to detail and accuracy, and problem solving
- Customer focused mindset, with a learning agility and adaptability
Preferred Skills and Education- Human Resources degree or advanced degree
- Exposure to HR systems, case management tools, or data tracking systems
- Interest and knowledge in HR technology, and continuous improvement
