SummaryCommunity Health Services strengthens partnerships across King County's safety-net system to deliver racially equitable, responsive health care services for historically underserved communities. The Access & Outreach team works to eliminate health disparities and advance health equity by removing barriers to care and ensuring that all individuals have access to health insurance and other public benefits.
This position will partner with agencies that serve people experiencing homelessness to develop and implement coordinated processes that help clients maintain continuous health insurance coverage. The incumbent will work directly with unhoused individuals to understand the barriers and challenges they face in renewing and retaining Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage under the new federal requirements.
In addition, this position will collaborate with Public Health Centers to identify clients experiencing homelessness and develop strategic, coordinated approaches to support their coverage needs. Working closely with Program Managers, Public Health Center staff, and community partners, the incumbent will help design and implement sustainable strategies that improve access to care, reduce coverage disruptions, and promote health equity for one of King County's most vulnerable populations. Recent changes under H.R. 1 have significantly altered how residents enroll in, renew, and maintain health insurance coverage.
