Full Job Description
As our Clinical Documentation Integrity Educator, you will help strengthen documentation quality, coding accuracy, and CDI performance by providing education, coaching, and process improvement support across inpatient acute care settings.

Every day you will:
  • Develop and deliver CDI education for Clinical Documentation Specialists and physicians.
  • Analyze documentation and coding trends to identify opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Partner with CDI, coding, compliance, and operational leaders to drive documentation excellence and workflow standardization.


To thrive in this role, you must have strong inpatient, acute CDI experience, advanced clinical documentation knowledge, and a passion for educating and mentoring others while driving continuous improvement.

Here's what you'll experience working as an Educator, Clinical Documentation Integrity:
  • Create and deliver engaging education programs on clinical documentation, coding guidelines, regulatory standards, and CDI best practices.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, onboarding, and ongoing development for CDI staff and physicians.
  • Monitor CDI metrics, conduct audits, analyze trends, and recommend performance improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on clinical documentation integrity, documentation guidelines, and CDI-related technology platforms.
  • Collaborate with coding, compliance, and operational teams to ensure documentation supports accurate coding, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead or support cross-functional projects, system implementations, workflow enhancements, and documentation standardization initiatives.
  • Improve provider documentation and query practices to accurately reflect patient severity, quality outcomes, and care delivered.
  • Support day-to-day CDI operations and assist with complex documentation scenarios as business needs require.


Required Skills:
  • Active U.S. Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 3-5 years of inpatient acute care CDI and auditing experience.
  • 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in a medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry, or emergency department setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CDI practices, ICD-10, MS-DRG/APR-DRG methodology, and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Experience presenting, coaching, educating, and influencing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.


Preferred Skills:
  • Additional two years of inpatient, acute CDI Educator experience.
  • Experience with Epic, Meditech, Cerner, Iodine, Optum, SmarterDx, Nuance CDE One, 3M 360, or similar technology platforms.
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $50,640.00 - $137,481.25 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 10.00%
