Responsibilities

  • Design EDS components including shields, troughs, grommets, connectors, and terminals from concept to launch.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to create technical specifications for component sourcing.
  • Develop and maintain a standard library of EDS components for wiring and power distribution designs.
  • Work with module owners and suppliers to define and release EDS and power distribution components.
  • Engage in collaborative team culture focused on learning and development.
  • Conduct virtual and physical verification testing for system compliance.
  • Ensure designs meet safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
  • Monitor consumer experiences and suggest system improvements accordingly.
  • Contribute designs for production facilities for trucks and SUVs.
  • Efficiently manage suppliers to ensure design targets for cost, timing, and quality are met.

This is how you will grow:
  • Be responsible for the design of all EDS components including shields, troughs, grommets, connectors & terminals, and power distribution components. You will cover from clean sheet of paper through virtual development, testing/sign-off and manufacturing launch
  • Work with Purchasing and Finance counterparts to develop technical specifications in support of the quoting and sourcing process for components under your control.
  • Develop and maintain a standard library of core EDS components aligned with global group owners that can be used in the design of EDS wiring and power distribution systems.
  • Work with key module owners, and suppliers to define and release all EDS and power distribution components.
  • Be part of a diverse team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, promoting continuous learning and professional development among team members.
  • Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
  • Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
  • Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
  • Contribute to the design of production facilities for trucks & SUVs.
  • Manage supplier resources efficiently to deliver component designs that meet cost, timing, and quality targets.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical wire harness and/or power distribution components design and release, and relevant automotive assignments, covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in wire harness component design and release, employing a six-sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
