Echo Manager-EKG - WST- Mount Sinai West- Full Time- Days

The Echocardiography Laboratory Manager oversees quality and compliance standards of all echocardiography services performed within all Mount-Sinai network facilities. The Echocardiography Laboratory Manager will be in charge of the supervision of all Echo-Technologist across the network and is responsible for acquiring and interpreting m-mode, 2-D, 3-D, pulse and continuous Doppler and color Doppler echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.

Responsibilities

1. Has a high degree of professional ethics and conduct.

2. Is familiar with the technical operations of all ultrasound equipment.

3. Oversees all related diagnostic duties and patient care functions requiring comparable skills and experiences.

4. Performs assessments on adult and geriatric patients, taking into consideration the physiological and anatomical needs of each patient.

5. Meets standards of care for all adult and geriatric patients.

6. Informs patient what is to be done and explains the steps to the patient.

7. Assists Cardiologists during procedures.

8. Reviews/charts all exams on patient's medical record.

9. Ensure equipment cleanliness and maintenance.

10. Assists students and fellows with on-the-job training. May assist with evaluation of students.

11. Mandatory continuing education to enhance growth.

12. Acts as a resource for specialized or complicated procedures.

13. Assists the Lab Supervisor with the training of echo techs for Stress Echocardiograms, 3-D echo and research study protocols.

14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent directly related experience
  • 7 years of sonography/echocardiography experience

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Medical Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARMDS)

Certified Radiologic Technologist from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARMDS)
