Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule, and optimization of craft labor and maintaining the overall construction schedule, the 90 day and 3 week look ahead schedules for labor and equipment. Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate action to correct deficiencies.
  • Coordinate safety training in conjunction with the Environmental, Safety, and Health Supervisor.
  • Champion the cause of ZERO Accident Philosophy. Ensure that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements, and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Monitor the activities of craft to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
  • Review craft time records using established automated tools.
  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures, and related work rules as established by field construction management.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring, and control.
  • Familiar with construction tools and equipment as well as their uses.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience in civil/earthwork operations to ensure adequate coordination with all stakeholders for smooth and safe execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Experience managing union craft heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety, & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program. Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
