What Your Job Will Be LikeThe Secure Embedded Systems department (5327) is seeking a motivated electronics engineer to support state-of-the-art printed circuit board (PCB) layout for large multi-disciplinary programs critical to national security. The successful candidate will support a team in the design, development, test, and deployment of novel embedded computing solutions. The successful candidate will have a background in, and understanding of, printed circuit board layout, test, and debug.
You will work alongside world-class experts and use your skills in the following areas:
- Layout of custom, state-of-the-art PCBs
- PCB test and debug
- Team with PCB designers, firmware, and software engineers to create embedded computing solutions
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite.
Applicants on this requisition may be interviewed by multiple organizations at Sandia National Laboratories.
Salary Range$87,400 - $168,800
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Experience and Understanding with printed circuit board layout
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire- Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) Certification
- Certified Interconnect Designer Advanced (CID+) Certification
- Certified Printed Circuit Designer (CPCD) certification
- Experience with Siemens layout tools (PADS and/or Expedition)
- Experience with high-layer-count stack-ups (18+ copper layers)
- Experience with PCB layout, testing, and debugging for applications involving state-of-the-art FPGAs, highspeed, and large memory
- Experience routing signals with high-speed data-rates (5+ gb/s)
- Experience routing modern memory topologies (DDR4/5)
- Experience with fine design features (3 mil trace & space)
- Active DOE Q clearance
- Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team of designers and test engineers.
