Role description:Arcadis is seeking a Drainage Design 3D Modeler to prepare detailed engineering drawings and documentation for civil infrastructure and stormwater drainage systems, and to develop 3D models using Civil 3D and OpenRoads. This role supports engineers in the design and delivery of projects across transportation, residential, commercial, and public infrastructure sectors.
Role accountabilities:In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D civil design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or OpenRoads. Your work will include developing drainage layouts, earthworks, road designs, transit corridors, and utility alignments to support a range of infrastructure projects. You will also play a key role in producing accurate technical documentation that supports the design and delivery process.
You will be instrumental in developing and updating stormwater drainage plans, storm sewers, culvert details, detention basins, and erosion control layouts. A key part of your responsibilities will involve translating engineers' design sketches and calculations into precise technical drawings and 3D models, while ensuring compliance with local standards, codes, and project specifications. In addition, you will assist with quantity take-offs and provide basic cost estimation support to help inform project planning and delivery.
Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with engineers, surveyors, and other drafters to ensure drawing accuracy and resolve design conflicts, while maintaining organized drawing records, file revisions, and document control protocols. You will also participate in project meetings and design reviews, and support the preparation of as-built documentation by updating redline drawings based on site feedback to ensure final records accurately reflect completed work.
