Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Downstream Bioprocessing Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of Isolere and Purexa's purification solutions. Reporting to the GM of Isolere, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving commercial growth and technical adoption of Donaldson's purification solutions across bioprocessing clients by identifying, developing, and executing strategic initiatives to expand our client base and increase revenue streams. They will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

An ideal candidate will have experience within the life sciences industry launching and growing new technologies. This individual will be responsible for external-facing activities related to sales, collaborations and partnerships, supply agreements, channel partnerships, and other business development transactions. Due to the early nature of our products, a great candidate will also have an entrepreneurial spirit while still being able to navigate the established supporting corporate culture of Donaldson and contribute to its growing life science business. Qualified candidates must be able to work a remote schedule.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Serve on the Isolere and Purexa leadership teams, providing voice of customer and commercial engagement feedback
  • Develop and execute business deals that deliver value and lead to early adopters and continued sales (alpha/beta testing, material transfer agreements, collaborations, and supply agreements)
  • Continue supporting and optimizing established channel partnerships and seek out additional opportunities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company objectives and targets
  • Drive customer adoption and retention strategies
  • Seek out and nurture strong customer relationships with decision makers in customer segments, including pharma, biotech, C(D/M/R)Os, vector cores, and related industries
  • Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and commercial team buildout
  • Manage and support commercially aligned team, including field application scientists
  • Regularly analyze sales cycle and adjust tactics accordingly
  • Develop processes and tools to ensure excellent customer experience and sales team operations, including the management of contacts and opportunity funnel within the CRM
  • Support GM in compiling data and presentations for senior management
  • Support product and technology roadmaps by contributing information on customer needs and market trends
  • Support marketing and lead generation activities by collaborating with marketing and product management, identifying and participating in congresses, key events and customer engagements


Travel: Up to 40% primarily in the assigned regions (North America and EU)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience in life sciences corporate, business development, or direct sales role
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biosciences, Biochemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • Established network within the Pharma/Biotech industry, especially advanced therapeutic modalities.
  • Proficiency using CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics) for contact and opportunity tracking


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with adoption and commercialization of disruptive technologies and growing first $5M of revenue for a new business
  • MBA or PhD with scientific focus area
  • Strong understanding of bioprocessing industry and its commercial drivers
  • Highly motivated individual with strong communication skills


Relocation: This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Annual Salary Range : $123,800 - 162,500. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance. Based on work location, geographic adjustment is included.

This position is eligible for sales incentive or commission plan, based on sales targets under company policy.
