Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs a Dosimetrist, you will work under the supervision of the Lead Physicist to assist the Radiation Oncologist in providing safe and effective treatment to radiation therapy patients.
Every day you will perform specific duties under the overall direction of medical physicists and direct supervision of the Lead Medical Physicist, ensuring precise treatment planning and delivery. You will also be responsible for renewing credentials annually and adhering to ethical standards.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of radiation oncology principles, and the ability to work collaboratively within a highly specialized team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
Patient treatment planning, calculations of dose for radiation therapy. Calculates distribution of doses for Radiation Therapy treatments including 3D, IMRT/VMAT, SRS, SBRT and HDR. Assists in set up, simulation and planning treatment. Provides support and problem solving with complex treatment set-ups to the simulation therapist. Offers suggestions and assists the Radiation Oncologist for optimal treatment planning procedures and protocols.
- Plans patient treatments for external beam radiation.
- Performs plan verification via independent second checks of monitor units and beam parameters.
- Accurately calculates electron beam monitor unit settings.
- Performs hand calculations.
- Utilizes computer program if applicable.
- Assists the simulation therapist and advises the therapist on setup issues and requirements.

- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
- Must reside in Arizona
Preferred- Two (2) years experience as a Certified Dosimetrist.
- Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (RTT)
