Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesPatient treatment planning, calculations of dose for radiation therapy. Calculates distribution of doses for Radiation Therapy treatments including 3D, IMRT/VMAT, SRS, SBRT and HDR. Assists in set up, simulation and planning treatment. Provides support and problem solving with complex treatment set-ups to the simulation therapist. Offers suggestions and assists the Radiation Oncologist for optimal treatment planning procedures and protocols.
- Plans patient treatments for external beam radiation.
- Performs plan verification via independent second checks of monitor units and beam parameters.
- Accurately calculates electron beam monitor unit settings.
- Performs hand calculations.
- Utilizes computer program if applicable.
- Assists the simulation therapist and advises the therapist on setup issues and requirements.
- Participates in weekly chart checks under the supervision of the head of physics.
- Accurately prepares the treatment chart prior to start of treatment in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participates in the planning and recording of documentation for protocol patients.
- Prepares OLDs, records readings, and accurately documents and reports the results to the physician and physicist.
- Participates in IMRT/VMAT planning.
- Participates in HDR planning.

Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
Must reside in Arizona
PREFERRED2 years experience as a Certified Dosimetrist.
