Full Job Description
Division Sales Engineer to join our team in Raleigh, NC. Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days home office). Relocation assistance available within the US.

The Division Sales Engineer will support pre-sales technical requests and quotations to the Eaton data center sales and agent teams in the assigned territory for Data Center Power Distribution product and services offerings, including Power Distribution Units (PDU), Reactors, Remote Power Panels (RPP), and Static Transfer Switches (STS).

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Support Eaton data center key accounts and agents in assigned territory.
  • Maintain technical and commercial product knowledge for Eaton Power Distribution Units (PDU), Reactors, Remote Power Panels (RPP), and Static Transfer Switches (STS); as well as communications offerings, custom metering offerings, other 3rd party accessories.
  • Review customers' plans and specifications and determine the appropriate Eaton solutions for the project.
  • Review product Requests for Quote (RFQ) and Division Takeoff Requests (DTRs) in Bid Manager; execute pricing authority to approve or deny product multipliers.
  • Meet or exceed sales volume and margin objectives as determined by product management for assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with product engineers to verify design and manufacturability of customer requirements.
  • Review orders to ensure the customer's technical needs are met and complete order documentation.
  • Explain Eaton's product documentation to specifying engineers and electrical contractors to ensure correct product application and installation.
  • Produce submittal documentation to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Offer a technical resource to customer service and other internal departments.
  • Interface with vendors, secure quotes and price ancillary equipment.
  • Support area sales managers/sales staff through technical assistance, pricing strategy, competitive review, installation and service information.
  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of technical data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Offer training and technical mentoring for new employees as well as Sales Staff.
  • Participate in scope review meetings and other pre-sales discussions with customers as required.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and digital mindset.

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering or business from an accredited institution
  • Experience in electrical industry
  • Experience in commercial sales support
  • Product and technical knowledge of Data Center Power Distribution equipment applications.
