Qualifications

• 20+ years of relevant insurance or reinsurance experience.
• In-depth understanding of reinsurance accounting and claims.
• Numerate degree from an accredited institution.
• Technical acumen in catastrophe models and portfolio optimization.
• International experience in the reinsurance sector.
• Expertise across all lines of Property and Casualty reinsurance.
• Preferred ARe or CPCU designation.
• Established broker and client relationships.
• Experience in structuring and pricing reinsurance programs.
• 5+ years managing senior underwriters' teams.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage tight deadlines and extended hours travel.

Responsibilities

• Direct underwriting responsibility for US and International property reinsurance and specialty reinsurance.
• Manage and lead a team of underwriters.
• Establish and monitor pricing decisions and aggregate risk accumulations.
• Set strategic and tactical goals for company success.
• Market Chubb Tempest Re to clients and intermediaries.
• Present quarterly results to parent company.
• Coordinate activities with other Chubb Group Companies.
• Oversee all functions: underwriting, marketing, actuarial, claims, IT, and technical operations.
• Provide leadership to a high-performing professional team.
• Oversee a global portfolio of catastrophe risk and establish underwriting guidelines.
• Manage the overall growth and sustainability of Chubb Tempest Re Bermuda.
