Full Job Description

Lead one distribution center. Align every shift. Strengthen every delivery.

As Distribution Manager, you will lead site-wide operations, helping team members deliver safe, consistent, high-quality service. You will guide our Area Managers, stay close to activity on the floor, and make timely operational decisions that keep people, inventory, and customer commitments on track.

This is an opportunity to shape how the distribution center works as one connected operation. You will strengthen communication between shifts, standardize processes, improve inventory accountability, and build an environment where teams can perform efficiently without compromising safety or quality. Your leadership will also support greater consistency across ResMed distribution sites.

The distribution center operates approximately from 6:00 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. Your start and end times may vary based on business needs, with availability for occasional after-hours escalations.

What You'll Do

  • Lead distribution operations across both shifts, ensuring teams work toward shared safety, quality, service, and delivery priorities.
  • Guide four Area Managers and support approximately 80 indirect employees, creating clear expectations and helping leaders make effective decisions on the floor.
  • Champion safety programs, workplace cleanliness, and regular equipment inspection and maintenance to protect employees and sustain reliable operations.
  • Translate daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts into practical labor plans that balance workloads, control costs, and meet customer commitments.
  • Align teams each day on staffing, priorities, and deadlines so both shifts operate as one coordinated distribution center.
  • Standardize operating methods and communication across shifts, enabling employees to work consistently without relearning different procedures.
  • Develop Area Managers and hourly teams through coaching, training, mentoring, and clear goals that strengthen performance and career growth.
  • Oversee the accurate receipt, inventory movement, packaging, and shipment of materials and finished goods so products reach customers on time and to specification.
  • Manage inventory controls and product traceability through WMS and Oracle, supporting material accountability, customer requirements, and quality standards.
  • Improve operational methods, policies, and procedures by removing non-value-added activity and creating more efficient ways of working.
  • Track departmental performance through accurate documentation and reporting, using results to identify risks and guide operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with site leaders, peer teams, field personnel, and other locations to resolve issues that affect employees, customers, or cross-functional operations.
  • Balance quality, delivery, workforce, and budget requirements while adapting quickly to changing operational needs.
  • Travel as needed.

What You Bring

  • At least 10 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment, including responsibility for complex, high-volume operations.
  • At least three years of supervisory or people-leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing inventory control systems, distribution operations programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading across multiple shifts or a comparably broad operational scope.
  • Working knowledge of federal and local OSHA requirements for warehouse, distribution, and shipping environments.
  • Experience using a warehouse management system to support inventory accuracy, traceability, and operational control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to align teams with different schedules and operational priorities.
  • A customer-focused approach to building relationships and making decisions that protect service, quality, and delivery.
  • Availability to adjust working hours based on operational needs and respond to occasional after-hours escalations.

Nice to Have

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience with Oracle or a comparable supply chain or logistics system.
  • Experience leading distribution operations in a regulated, medical device, or similarly quality-focused environment.

What Sets You Apart

  • Visible Leadership – You stay connected to the floor, understand what teams need, and make informed decisions when operations require direction.
  • One-Team Mindset – You bring shifts and functions together, preventing separate ways of working from becoming operational barriers.
  • Thoughtful Communication – You share the right information at the right time and consider how decisions on one shift may affect another.
  • Calm Accountability – You set clear expectations, address issues directly, and support people in delivering on their commitments.
  • Continuous Curiosity – You challenge unnecessary complexity and look for practical improvements that make work safer, simpler, and more consistent.
  • Balanced Judgment – You respond quickly when needed while considering safety, quality, people, cost, and customer impact.
