Job Summary

The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the performance of distribution operations across the Montreal region, including oversight of three distribution centres/warehouses. Reporting to the Director, Distribution, this role works closely with the Montreal Plant Manager to ensure strong alignment between manufacturing and distribution activities, enabling an integrated and efficient end-to-end supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across three warehouse sites, including receiving, storage, order picking, and shipping.
- Ensure effective coordination, consistency, and communication across all locations.
- Drive operational efficiency to improve productivity, service levels, and overall performance.

Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and their teams.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Support talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

Manufacturing Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Montreal Plant Manager to align production output with distribution capacity.
- Coordinate the flow of finished goods between manufacturing and distribution.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.

Performance & Continuous Improvement:
- Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead Lean and process optimization initiatives.
- Standardize best practices across sites.

Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with planning, transportation, and procurement teams.
- Optimize inventory levels and product flow.
- Support strategic supply chain initiatives.

Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture.
- Maintain regulatory compliance.

Financial Management:
- Manage regional operating budgets.
- Track costs and identify efficiency opportunities.
- Analyze financial performance and implement improvements.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in distribution or operations management.
- Proven experience managing multiple sites.
- Strong experience and understanding of a manufacturing environment are required.

Key Skills:
- Strong leadership and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Results-oriented with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Continuous improvement mindset (Lean experience considered an asset).

Requirements:
