Distinguished Engineer - Cybersecurity (Session Management)
In this role, you will work with Cyber’s Privileged Access Management team, responsible for enabling our business by defining comprehensive strategies, tooling and solutions that help secure all identities (human and non-human) with elevated access rights to critical systems and sensitive data.
You will be responsible for defining the target state architecture and tooling for managing the non-human identities. You will provide technical expertise and leadership in architecting solutions that ensure secure, compliant and automated lifecycle management of identities for applications, services, devices and AI agents. You will be a thought leader in this space to ensure that we are building a world class platform that is scalable, resilient, supports multi-cloud and multi-tenant use cases.
You will work closely with other Distinguished Engineers and engineering teams across the organization. Additionally you will provide mentorship and strategic guidance to our engineers, product and leadership groups. Basic Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
10+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture
10+ years of professional experience coding in commonly used languages like Java, Python, Go etc.
5+ years of experience in designing and building a workflow identity management platform
10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
5+ years of experience in Cloud computing (AWS, Google Cloud)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $269,100 - $307,200 for Distinguished EngineerPlano, TX: $244,700 - $279,200 for Distinguished Engineer
Richmond, VA: $244,700 - $279,200 for Distinguished Engineer
San Jose, CA: $293,600 - $335,100 for Distinguished Engineer
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
