YOUR IMPACT:

The Director, Global Workplace Experience & Design is responsible for defining and advancing the organization's global workplace experience strategy, design standards, and workplace brand across the corporate real estate portfolio. This role leads the development of workplace concepts, design guidelines, employee amenities programs, workplace innovation initiatives, and experience-driven standards that create consistent, engaging, and high-performing environments for employees worldwide.
The Director serves as the enterprise owner for workplace design governance, workplace experience programs, and portfolio-wide standards, ensuring all workplace investments align with organizational culture, business objectives, and employee needs while delivering a consistent global brand experience.
This position reports to the VP, Workplace Services and will be based in our Richmond Hill, ON office, with an expectation of occasional travel between our GTA offices.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:

Workplace Experience Strategy & Design Leadership
• Develop and execute a global workplace experience strategy that enhances employee engagement, productivity, wellbeing, collaboration, and organizational culture.
• Establish and maintain the global workplace vision, design principles, standards, and governance framework.
• Define workplace concepts and experience strategies that support evolving workforce needs, and future workplace trends.
• Lead the development and continuous evolution of workplace design standards, furniture specifications, finish palettes, amenity strategies, and workplace guidelines.
• Establish design review and approval processes to ensure consistency across all workplace projects globally.
• Champion innovative workplace solutions that improve employee experience and optimize space effectiveness.
• Partner with project delivery teams to ensure workplace projects successfully translate design intent into execution.

Workplace Branding & Portfolio Standards
• Serve as the global owner of workplace branding standards and environmental graphics programs.
• Lead workplace integration and rebranding initiatives associated with acquisitions, mergers, portfolio consolidations, and organizational transformations.
• Ensure workplace environments consistently reflect company culture, values, and brand identity.
• Develop standards for workplace amenities, food services, wellness offerings, and shared employee spaces.
• Drive portfolio-wide standardization while allowing flexibility for local market and business requirements.

Workplace Analytics & Insights
• Establish workplace performance measures that assess employee experience, utilization, occupancy, amenity effectiveness, and workplace satisfaction.
• Leverage workplace data and employee feedback to inform design decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop executive reporting and dashboards that communicate workplace performance, trends, and opportunities.
• Support workforce planning and portfolio strategy through occupancy, capacity, and utilization analytics.

Innovation & Technology Enablement
• Identify and evaluate workplace technologies that enhance employee experience, workplace operations, and space utilization.
• Partner with Technology teams to implement and optimize workplace experience platforms and smart-building solutions.
• Drive digital innovation initiatives that improve workplace engagement, wayfinding, reservation systems, and workplace services.

Governance & Program Management
• Establish governance processes, standards documentation, and operating procedures supporting global workplace programs.
• Develop business cases and strategic recommendations for workplace investments and transformation initiatives.
• Oversee workplace experience program budgets, vendor relationships, and performance management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, consistency, and operational effectiveness across the portfolio.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for workplace experience, design standards, and workplace programs.
• Build strong partnerships with Corporate Real Estate, Facilities Operations, HR, IT, Corporate Communications, Procurement, and business leaders globally.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, consultants, and project teams to ensure successful delivery of workplace initiatives.
• Represent the workplace function in executive forums and strategic planning discussions.
• Influence senior stakeholders to advance workplace strategies that support business performance and employee experience objectives.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in workplace strategy, workplace design, employee experience, corporate real estate, or facilities leadership.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience within a global or multi-site environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing workplace standards, design guidelines, workplace concepts, and employee experience programs.
• Strong understanding of workplace design trends, work strategies, occupancy planning, and employee experience principles.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide workplace transformations, portfolio standardization initiatives, and workplace branding programs.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.
• Experience working with architects, designers, workplace consultants, and project delivery teams across multiple geographies.

Salary Range: $125,500 - $188,300; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
