Full Job Description

As a Director of Wealth Management Business Solutions, you’ll be responsible for a large-scale strategic unit at the heart of a wealth management transformation initiative. You’ll ensure that processes, business solutions, and technological assets effectively meet the needs of specialized networks, support the member and client experience and generate value for the business as expected. Your cross-functional leadership role extends to the business lines, distribution networks, technology teams, internal partners and external suppliers. You’ll ensure an integrated and growth-oriented vision for our portfolio of solutions, including needs assessments, prioritizing investments, rollouts, support, continuous improvement and profit taking. You will also be tasked with upgrading the unit to a business function that provides strong strategic value while being proactive and focused on value creation. You’ll implement clear governance frameworks, strengthen the organization’s end-to-end accountability and improve its ability to simplify working methods, master operations and successfully reach its transformation goals. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Assume business responsibilities for solutions and platforms by maximizing the value delivered to networks and members and clients through effective governance of priorities, investments and the next phase of our business solutions
  • Manage performance and the continuous improvement of end-to-end processes while overseeing profit taking, risk management and the simplification of working methods
  • Position prep work as a strategic lever for transforming processes, encourage operations to adopt them and build a strong culture of simplicity
  • Oversee the excellence of user support services and the operational stability of solutions, while maintaining a high level of quality, compliance and client experience.
  • Ensure rigorous business governance of external suppliers, working in close partnership with the organization’s tech teams
  • Lead, mobilize and develop a team of managers, professionals and experts while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and excellence
  • Support the division in the execution of its mandate
  • Define and oversee the execution of activities related to the unit’s services and ensure that projects under your responsibility are carried out in a way that maximizes business results and ensures member/client satisfaction
  • Implement management and communication practices that help attract and retain talent and that promote skills development, adaptability, employee mobilization and diversity, in keeping with Desjardins’s values
  • Manage individual and team performance to reach the goals set by the division and business segment as part of their execution plan
  • Continuously improve process management

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics or a related field
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in business solutions management, process management, continuous improvement or product and platform management
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Proven experience in operational transformation and the optimization of business processes in complex and multidisciplinary environments
  • Recognized experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams and developing talent in a context of change and organizational transformation
  • Proven track record of inspirational leadership, cross-functional influence and managing high-level employees
  • Experience working in a complex environment that requires political savvy and a strong ability to lead, influence and collaborate, while maintaining a consistent focus on results and value creation
  • Knowledge of French is required
